Tom and I both thought it was an excellent experience, and that it  has helped our games and will continue to do so.  We enjoyed working with Greg.  He focused on the fundamentals and kept the lessons to the few basic areas that each of us needed to work on.  We’ve both been to golf schools before, and I’ve taken a lot of lessons over the roughly 25 years of playing.  I had a theory in recent years that rather than going to golf school it would be better to spread that money over many lessons, which I think has some truth to it, but in this case I think Greg’s concentrated focus on the basics, reinforced so much over the three days, actually was better than spread out lessons.  I have recommended the Bird school to several friends. Tom’s handicap has dropped a couple of strokes since June.  Mine has dropped only slightly, but I did break 90 for the first time in months, and feel that my long game and short shots around the green are much better, and I’ve eliminated the big scores that led to going to golf school.  We’ve both reached out to Greg once or twice and gotten helpful same day responses. Hi Mary, I wanted to thank you again for the excellent three days of golf school last week. Your patience and ability to improve our game while keeping it fun is a true testament to you and the Bird Golf Academy. Here’s a picture of Norm and me on the 18th fairway during our last round of golf with you. As an aside I came back to Key West and played on Saturday with all these thoughts in mind and had my WORST round in many years. I went back today after a little practice and shot my best round EVER (75). Needless to say all my golf friends wanted to know how it happened. I’m sure you guys get tons of emails from former students but just another shout out to our guys – Lee and Jim! (Lee Maiden and Jim Samsing) My older two kids (Ryan, Justin) are actually 2/3 handicap now and to be honest I’m not sure I realized how good of golfers they were until we all attended Bird Academy together as a “foursome.” (Ryan and Justin were taught by Jim; Gerry and Tyler were with Lee).  We are all implementing the stuff we’ve been taught! As the 60-something year old guy I never realized how little I knew about the game of golf.  As an example, I was ready to abandon my new putting stroke and go back to my old “pendulum” stroke until I reread my Bird Academy “black book” and Lee’s comments:  ‘After you watched all those putting techniques you’ve agreed with and will stay with that stroke. It’s all practice.’   It’s starting to deliver results! Hope you guys are all doing well.  We had a fantastic time in Arizona! Jay, I booked this trip with high expectations and came back with more than I thought I would achieve. Not only did I have immediate results, but also have the tools to stop and reset my swing and thought process when I get too much into my head. Dick couldn’t have been a better instructor. I liked the way he broke down instruction into small chunks, then built on them daily and over the course of the three days.  He was able to figure out, quite quickly, what would resonate with me.  Three days went too fast.  I played golf on Saturday when I got home and I can hear everything he said to us in my head!!  Not only an incredible instructor, but such a kind and patient man.  Couldn’t have been a better fit.  Thank you for that.
