Bobby Steiner

Bobby Steiner has been a leading golf instructor since 1996. In addition to his role as a Bird Golf Academy instructor, he currently serves as Director of Instruction at Horseshoe Bay Resort, a role he has held since 2018.

Previously, Bobby spent 18 winters as Head Teaching Professional at the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, where he served as Lead Instructor for Golf Digest Schools, ESPN Golf Schools, and Troon Institutes.

An accomplished author and innovator, Bobby wrote the nationally syndicated column Golf, Heart, & Soul, which led to his book Muni, named Golf Book of the Year by Golf Today Magazine in 2004. He is also the creator of the Perfect Swing Tempo Training System, founder of SwingMadeGolf, and developer of several training programs designed to help golfers of all levels improve consistency, rhythm, and distance.

Teaching Philosophy

Bobby relies on a non-method approach, explaining, “Every student is different, with unique goals, backgrounds, practice opportunities, and learning styles. His mission is to meet students where they are, understand what brings them to see me, and take them beyond the limits of what they can do on their own. Golf fundamentals aren’t always difficult to understand, but communicating them in a way each student can truly connect with requires constant creativity—and the ability to offer a different angle when the first one misses the mark.
