Sandy Cable Wins a State Championship

Sandy Cable’s Triumph: A Victorious Journey to State Championship Glory

We recently chronicled the outstanding accomplishment of Sandy Cable when she came so close to winning her Club Championship (just losing on the 18th. hole by one shot). At the time, while Sandy was thrilled with her second place finish she was a little disappointed not to have won (an understandable sentiment, but what Sandy has accomplished with her golf game, leaves no room for regret).

Golf is a game of highs and lows. It is a game of triumph and disaster. It is the ultimate test of will and character. Competitive golf will test your patience, perseverance and determination like no other endeavor.

On September 15 & 16 in the Northern Nevada Women’s Golf Association Amateur Stroke Play Championship, Sandy won Low Net in the Senior Division. Sandy played incredible golf shooting 84 and 85 over the two days with a very impressive 39 on the back 9 of her final round, when it really mattered.

In Sandy’s words “I cannot tell you how good it felt to play this well these last two days. I won a state level tournament. My name will go on the permanent plaque. And I get to keep it for a year. This is a tribute to the Bird golf school and Jim and I feel…so AWESOME!”

We are so proud of you, Sandy.
