The Sunday Manifesto (random thoughts keep finding their way back):

Why doesn’t Karrie Webb win every tournament she plays in? (in our humble opinion, she has the best golf swing, male or female).

When will Justin Rose finally win a tour event in the US?

Is there a streakier player than Kenny Perry?

Is “streakier” a word?

Will the winning score be 10 over par at this year’s US Open?

How many PGA Tour players will write, Jack Nicklaus, a hand written (see our last blog entry), thank you card this year?

How does Ian Poulter get shoes that match his outfits?

Does Tiger really drive a Buick?

My question to you? Will Phil make the cut at US Open

Well said, Karl…….we are of the opinion that Phil will make the cut at the Open; but after being one shot out of the lead on the 18th. hole on Saturday he will pull off a “Roy McAvoy” (see Tin Cup) and plonk 6 balls into “Devlin’s billabong” (and no, Karl, that is not the kind of bong that you think it is; that is the small pond that guards the 18th. green), trying too hit the green from 270 yards out and behind a tree. Bones, (Phil’s caddy) will be heard saying afterwards that Phil, “missed….by that much”………

I agree that all points lead to Tiger to win the US Open at Torrey Pines (despite his knee operation); HOWEVER, I think that this year’s event may give us a real surprise winner. My longshot is Brandt Snedeker.

Brandt is having a another great season. He will be one watch. My dark horse is going to be the local boy. Pat Perez. Grew up near Torrey. Has played it many times. Look for Pat near the top of the leader board.
